Popular in the Victorian era as a sign of good luck, due to the royal family in the 1890's with Prince Edward's love for horse racing popularized the horseshoe motif as a good luck charm. When I stumbled across this beauty hat pin, I feel in love with the simple floral design upon the horseshoe. The original was from the 1890's, and translated beautifully into my bronze and silver castings. The pendant measures 30mm x 27mm and I have suspended it in an offset way to bring a modern sense to the necklace. It is suspended from a 24" chain.
